A monk’s burial (pt. 2)

As i told in a previous post, some weeks ago i had the rare privilage of attending to a monk’s burial at La Oliva monastery, a really beautiful place, and i published a few haiku and senryuu (even a tanka) inspired by that ceremony.

After the burial, i could visit the rest of the monastery: the gothic cloister, the ruins on the oldest wing of the monastery, … The fruits of this visit are these other haiku/senryuu you can read next.

—o0o—

it snows again,
a cat into the chapel
looking for shelter

—o0o—

young olive-trees,
on the enclosure groves
empty of callings

—o0o—

murmur of steps,
at the cloister the silence
can be heard

—o0o—

primrose in bloom,
a puddle on the well curb
where a sparrow drinks

—o0o—

olive shoots
in a cool shady crack,
and then the sunsine

—o0o—
